Since the 1920’s phthalates have been used in manufacturing costing, paint and plastics. They were banned by the EU from being used in childrens’ toys in 1999, but are still used in some of the lower end of sex toys, particularly those from China.

In the small print of these products, it’s advised covering them in condoms when used internally, due to the possible leaching of phthalates. Where’s the fun in that!!??!!

When buying your toys from online, or high street outlets, be careful. We’ve found a new online outlet called Angels Secret which only stocks products that are free from phthalates, and therefore safer for all users.

So, for designer sex toys that you can be sure are safe for you and the environment, be sure to check out Angels Secret. They have an extensive range of products, all for the upmarket women wanting an upmarket toy.

There is a major concern to the planet by Phthalates (pronounced FAY-lates) are these oil-derived chemicals that have been used in paints, in hair sprays, perfumes and plenty of other products. They are also used to soften plastics such as dildos, vibrators and ahem, butt plugs. And not just the grown-up toys, as children’s toys have used this chemical as well.  Have no fear. Sex toy manufacturers and retailers to the rescue!

There’s a new iPod sex toy in town, with the launch of a colourful range of vibrators aimed at Apple users. The OhMiBod is also claimed as the world’s first iPhone sex toy.

According to the manufacturer, “the combination of listening and feeling your music quickly transports you to a place where music, mind and body come together to create an unbeatable sexual experience”.
It is 5.5 inches long (insertable) and 1.125 inches in diameter, with polished chrome detail and a pearl white body.

The European launch of the OhMiBod iPod-compatible sex toys has been announced by iPod accessory retailer Easyishop. It is not thought to be part of Apple’s official ‘Made for iPod’ range.

The £39.99 OhMiBod iPod vibrator works in tandem with any iPod. Users simply plug the vibrator into their iPod or iPhone (and somewhere else, presumably…) and it automatically vibrates to the rhythm and intensity of the selected music.
